MHCC PROGRAM MANAGER- Center for Quality Measurement and Reporting (CQMR)

NATURE OF WORK

The Maryland Health Care Commission (MHCC) is an independent State agency responsible for planning for health system needs and promoting informed decision-making by providing timely and accurate information on the quality of health care services to policymakers, purchasers, providers, and the public. The MHCC maintains a consumer website, through which provider performance and quality information is made available to the public. The MHCC is seeking a Program Manager to provide project oversight and analytic support to the Commission’s consumer focused reporting initiatives in the Center for Quality Measurement and Reporting (CQMR). This senior level positon will lead the effort to expand the use of existing databases to better access provider performance and provide meaningful information to consumers and stakeholders. The position will also provide technical and analytic support to the Center staff toward development of issue briefs, analyses, and concise, consumer-oriented feature stories using available clinical, demographic and financial data and CMS, NQF and AHRQ measures. The applicant should have the ability to conduct policy analyses focused on health care quality and appropriate utilization using public and private insurance carrier health care claims, MHCC provider surveys, Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers & Systems (CAHPS) surveys, the American College of Cardiology’s National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR®), and the CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network data, which is the most widely used healthcare-associated infection tracking system.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Care Administration, Public Policy, or closely related field and two years’ related experience. Demonstrated proficiency with SAS, other statistical packages, or data analytic products is required. Strong written and verbal presentation skills are required. Demonstrated multimedia experience using presentation software and social media is preferred.

SALARY: Salary Range - $67,946 - $108,645
