MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The Maryland Health Care Commission is an independent State agency responsible for planning for health system needs and promoting informed decision-making by providing timely and accurate information on availability, cost, and quality of health care services to policymakers, purchasers, providers, and the public.

The Commission is seeking a Program Manager to work under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer to assist in managing the Commission’s overall program goals which includes the Maryland Trauma Physicians Fund ensuring reimbursement for uncompensated care, on call costs and stand by costs that are paid to the Maryland Trauma Hospitals, managing contract deliverables through center planning documents, tracking and updating the MHCC contract tracking system, assisting with accounts receivable/accounts payable activities, check deposits, and coordinating the preparation of the Workload Study report to the Maryland General Assembly. Position will make recommendations to improve program efficiencies in these areas and assist the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Administration with the implementation of long- and short-range plans for program operations and oversee these achievements.

SALARY: $76,103.00 - $126,598.00/year

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The MHCC is an independent regulatory agency that is administratively part of Maryland Department of Health. MHCC plans for health system needs, promotes informed decision-making and increased accountability, and works to improve access to needed health care services by providing timely and accurate information on availability, cost, and quality of services to policy makers, purchasers, providers, and the public. The Commission’s vision for Maryland is to ensure that informed consumers hold the health care system accountable and have access to affordable and appropriate health care services through programs that serve as models for the nation. The Center for Health Care Facilities Planning and Development focuses on improving the care provided by health care facilities, bringing together planning, regulation of capital investment, and collection of relevant facilities information.  

This senior management position leads the Center for Health Care Facilities Planning and Development (Center). The Center Director reports directly to the MHCC Executive Director and serves a senior advisor on health planning to the Commissioners and directs the health planning functions within MHCC. The Center Director serves as the main point of contact on health planning and health facility utilization issues for Commissioners and public and private sector health and health-related organizations in Maryland, adjacent states, and the Federal government.
