Last fall, a working group of Maryland state regulatory agencies convened by the Governor identified health care workforce development, including Graduate Medical Education (GME), as a key priority in preparing for Maryland’s participation in the CMS AHEAD Model.

In coordination with the Maryland Department of Health and in consultation with the Health Services Cost Review Commission, MHCC is convening focus group discussions to identify strategic priorities for strengthening Maryland’s health care workforce in support of achieving the goals of the AHEAD model. These focus groups will provide insight into existing workforce initiatives, workforce development gaps and opportunities, and will help identify strategic priorities for future workforce development efforts.
