Senate Bill 682 from the 2018 legislative session requires that the Maryland Health Care Commission and the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS) convene a workgroup on EMS reimbursement for health services provided without transport, for transport provided to alternative designations (i.e. destinations that are not emergency departments), and for mobile integrated health programs (also known as community paramedicine). The group will consider reimbursement from Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance.
