Workgroups

Workgroups are formed at the Commission to address specific tasks, issues, legislation, or projects in Maryland. These groups are typically made up of individuals with relevant expertise, experience, or interest in the topic in question. Although these workgroups are often temporary and only last until they meet their objectives, some may evolve into ongoing committees if they meet a continuing need.

Advanced Primary Care Workgroups

These workgroups focus on strengthening the foundation of Maryland’s healthcare system by exploring sustainable investment strategies and innovative delivery models for primary care. By collaborating with providers and payers, these groups aim to improve patient outcomes and increase the overall value of care delivered to Marylanders.

Health Care Quality Workgroups

Dedicated to transparency and clinical excellence, these groups establish the metrics used to evaluate and report on the performance of Maryland’s healthcare facilities. Their work ensures that the public has access to accurate, data-driven insights regarding the quality of care at hospitals, nursing homes, and outpatient centers.

Health Information Technology Workgroups

Focused on the intersection of healthcare and digital innovation, these workgroups develop the regulatory frameworks and policy standards for health information exchange (HIE) and telehealth. They work to ensure the secure, private, and efficient flow of health data across the state while expanding patient access to care through modernized technology policies.
