Home Health Survey

The Maryland Health Care Commission collects annual data from home health agencies to support health planning, assess industry performance, and maintain the MHCC Quality Reporting website. Agencies required to participate must have their survey accepted by the specified due date to comply with Maryland law.

About the Survey

The Maryland Health Care Commission (MHCC) releases the annual Maryland Home Health Agency Survey during the fourth quarter of each year. The survey collection period runs for 60 days. The reporting requirements of the Maryland Home Health Agency Survey are specified in the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR 10.07.10.12). Under those regulations, providers are required to submit accurate, timely, and complete data needed by the Commission to support planning for long term care services. This data is used to update the MHCC Quality Reporting Website, develop the State Health Plan, determine the need for additional capacity, and assess the financial health and performance of the industry. To comply with Maryland law, facilities must have their survey accepted by the specified due date.

How to complete the survey

MHCC uses a web-based application to collect survey data. Providers receive a login ID and password to access the portal, submit their survey, and request assistance. All official correspondence about the survey is conducted through the email utility within the application. Providers are required to maintain a valid email address on file with the Commission.
