Hospice Survey

The Maryland Health Care Commission collects annual data from hospice agencies to support health planning, assess industry performance, and maintain the MHCC Quality Reporting website.

The reporting requirements of the annual Maryland Hospice Survey are specified in COMAR 10.24.03. Under these regulations, long-term care providers, including hospice programs, are required to submit accurate, timely and complete data needed by the MHCC to support planning for hospice services. Hospices licensed for general or limited hospice services in Maryland are required to report annually to the MHCC under COMAR 10.24.03.

About the Survey

The annual Maryland Hospice Survey  has a collection period of 60 days and providers must submit accurate, timely, and complete data. This data informs the State Health Plan, supports capacity planning, and guides assessment of the financial health of the hospice industry.

How to Complete the Survey

MHCC uses a web-based application to collect survey data. Providers receive a login ID and password to access the portal, submit their survey, and request assistance. All official correspondence about the survey is conducted through the email utility within the application. Providers are required to maintain a valid email address with the Commission. If your facility’s contact information has changed since your last survey, please contact me directly to update your records.
