Legislative Workgroup : Provider Payer

Chapter 614 of 2014 Laws of Maryland established the provider-payer workgroup convened by the Maryland Health Care Commission. The statute establishes membership in the provider-payer workgroup to include carriers, hospitals, physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other persons entitled to reimbursement under Health General § 15–701(A).   When appropriate to the issue under discussion, consumer organizations are also to be included. The MHCC approved membership in the Workgroup at the December 2014 Commission meeting.  MHCC has the authority to add additional members from the hospital community, from specialty societies, and from consumer groups that will be affected by changes to the Maryland law.
