Health Information Technology : Electronic Prescriptions Records System

Maryland House Bill 115, passed in 2018, directs the Maryland Health Care Commission (MHCC) to establish a stakeholder workgroup. This group will conduct a health IT policy study to evaluate the benefits and feasibility of an electronic system enabling healthcare providers to access patients' prescription medication history. The MHCC must submit a report outlining the study's findings and recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly by January 1, 2020.
