About the Presentations, participants should be able to:

Medicaid has expanded reimbursement for the use of remote patient monitoring (RPM) and it now has its own specific CPT billing code. There will be two presentations: the first, Medicaid representatives will share detailed information about RPM, including qualifying conditions, reimbursement requirements, and patient eligibility; and the second, from the Johns Hopkins Home Care Group’s Pediatrics at Home Services, an MHCC grantee. Pediatrics at Home is piloting a comprehensive program that provides enhanced disease management to children with asthma through the use of a mobile application.

After the Presentations:

  • Describe Medicaid RPM reimbursement requirements and criteria;
  • Identify service types that qualify for RPM reimbursement (i.e., chronic care management, transitional care management, and behavioral health integration services);
  • Describe strategies to successfully implement RPM with pediatric patients;
  • Identify benefits of deploying a mobile application to conduct regular health assessments and provide real-time clinical and educational feedback; and
  • Considerations for deployment of RPM under the current Medicaid RPM rules.

Who Should Attend?

  • Providers and others considering deploying RPM to serve asthma patients;
  • Administrative staff wanting to ensure compliance with Medicaid reimbursement rules and processes; and
  • Health care professionals looking to understand eligibility requirements and patient restrictions for Medicaid RPM reimbursement.
