The Maryland Health Care Commission (MHCC) conducts
an annual survey of Maryland Freestanding Ambulatory Surgery Facilities
in the first quarter of each year. The survey collection period runs for
45 days. The reporting requirements of the Maryland Freestanding Ambulatory
Surgery Survey are specified in the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR
10.24.04). Under these regulations, providers are required to submit accurate,
timely, and complete data needed by the Commission to support planning
and policy development for ambulatory surgery services. The data is used
to update the Maryland Ambulatory
Surgery Provider Directory
, the Maryland
Ambulatory Surgery Facility Electronic Consumer Guide, public
use data files, and to update and/or revise the State
Health Plan.
Survey Data may be accessed by the Public under Health Care Community>Public Use Files.
