House Bill 706: Electronic
Health Records – Regulation and Reimbursement
A meeting will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2009, from 2:00-4:00pm at the Maryland Health Care Commission in the Public Conference Room. The purpose of this meeting is to begin discussions on the development of regulations as a result of House Bill 706, Electronic Health Records – Regulation and Reimbursement. This legislation requires state-regulated payers to provide incentives to select health care providers for the adoption and meaningful use of electronic health records. The legislation also requires payers to impose disincentives in later years for using an electronic health record that does not meet defined criteria.
