Find a Patient Experience Measure

The patient's perspective on the care provided by hospitals is an important and valuable indicator of hospital quality and performance. The Maryland Health Care Commission utilizes the results of a national, standardized survey of hospital patients to obtain and report on measures of hospital performance. The survey asks a sample of recently discharged patients about important aspects of their experience while in the hospital. Ten performance measures are obtained from the patient survey. The survey is administered on a quarterly basis and the Maryland Hospital Guide is updated with current survey results as they become available.
